I earlier posted about a unique pool and yard that I was hired to design. This pool was essentially created at a residence as a therapy pool for their dogs. The homeowners will also use the pool as a lap pool. It is 3′ 8″ deep, has a ramp entrance and a Badu SwimJet System.
The most unique aspect to this project is it is in a very narrow backyard and we made it work.
Here are the before pictures:
Here are the proposed 3D Rendering pictures:
Now for the after photos:

Finishes for pool are Stonescapes Mini Pebble for plaster, Venus Glass Tile, brass drain covers and Utah Flagstone for decking.
The end result is a yard that didn’t get much use will now be used everyday. The pool being in place also makes the yard look longer and it’s much more inviting. I visited the site today and I felt like jumping in the pool and swimming against the swim jets. The high end finishes makes the pool extremely inviting.
The pool contractor is based in Southern California and you can reach their website by clicking here: Certified Swimming Pools of California.

I LOVE it! It came out beautifully and the real pool looks just like the mock up. I also love the slanted entrance into the pool.. beautiful
Thank you Kay!
You are extremely inspirational! I appreciate it!
I really do love your work.. and I hope one day I can feature some of it on the site one day
This is really sweet, great design and work. Would be even nicer if you have more full height windows opening to the pool, making it a private side courtyard!
Thanks Kam! Yeah you are right, that would be ideal.
Wow, I couldn’t tell which was a photo and which was digital! Looks really nice, excellent finish!
thank you!
It came out great!! Good work
Thanks Brit!!
I have pictures of the Danes in the pool as well. It’s cute.
OMG! You must post those!
It is great that you can help your clients visualize the project through modeling. And the added benefit is that you automatically have a set of plans. Nice work and definitely would love to see the Danes in the pool.
Yeah it helps a lot. I am working on getting some photos of them swimming around. Thank you!
Fantastic work. Didn’t notice the ramp when you posted the 3-D modeling earlier.
Thank you sir!
I want one of these; nothing flashy, just for laps and doggies. Nice work!
Thank you!
That is so cool. We have a spot like that next to our house, but is it ok to put it so close to the house foundation???
The Pool is only 3’6″ deep and it is 3’6″ away from the house and property lines. The pressure from the foundation of the house would miss the pool if you imagine it at a 45 degree angle. Pretty much a rule of thumb with most Cities is that you show the pool being as far away from the structure as deep it is unless you can show on a elevation view that the foundation would not impact the pool. Hope that helps!
This is so David Hockney a Biggee Splash. Love it. If only you could design something similar for my home.
Thank you for the kind words!
